PARIS, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Two-time Olympic tennis gold medalist Andy Murray has dropped out of the singles event in Paris, but will continue to compete in the doubles.

The 37-year-old said earlier in the week that he would retire after the Paris Olympics, and confirmed at Thursday's draw that he would limit his participation to the men's doubles, meaning he won't have the chance of a third singles gold after winning in London 2012 and Rio 2016.

"I trained to get ready to play both, but I'm getting a bit older now, so it gets harder to recover from injuries and I ran out of timeAPP开发公司," he admitted.  ■
